Lilith's Unbound Talisman

Join the Coven to keep this in your own Book of Shadows
An amulet charged in three passes - salt, smoke and flame - and sealed with an invocation of Lilith, who in the old stories would not be made to lie down. It is worn for the days when you are being pressed to give yourself away in small pieces.
Level Intermediate
Time 40 minutes
Moon Any. A dark or waxing moon both suit it
What You Will Need
A talisman of your own
A pendant, a ring, a bracelet, a carried stone. Something already yours rather than bought for the rite, because the working is about your own autonomy and the object should already have some of your life on it.
Coarse salt
A pinch, for the first pass. Salt clears, and it is the only one of the three elements here that touches the talisman directly.
Red or black cloth
To wrap the talisman in for the third pass. Red for fierceness, black for sovereignty.
A black candle
Lit through the rite, snuffed at the end after the thanks.
Incense
Any kind. The talisman is passed through the smoke in the second pass, so a stick or a cone in a holder rather than a loose resin.
Moon Phase & Timing
No phase is required. Both halves of the month offer something to this rite.
Dark of the Moon: Traditional for Lilith, and the quietest night for a working about your own sovereignty.
Waxing Moon: For a talisman you are charging ahead of something specific - a hearing, a confrontation, a season you know will push at you.
Any night you need it: This is a working people come back to. It does not require ceremony to be effective.
