The Crossed Coin Working

Join the Coven to keep this in your own Book of Shadows
Coins laid over dry leaves and a name set above them, then a small fire: a working against an unfair financial advantage - the undercutting rival, the business trading on a lie. The coins are kept crossed in a bag, and rinsing them in salt water undoes it.
Level Intermediate
Time 40 minutes, plus the cooling
Moon Waning Moon preferred
What You Will Need
A fireproof pot or a safe fire pit
Outdoors, or somewhere you can let a small fire of leaves burn out completely. Leaves flare fast and die fast, so the vessel matters more than the quantity.
A handful of dry leaves
Swept up from anywhere. They are the fuel and they are also the image: something that looked like growth, gone brittle.
Several coins
Low-value coins of your own currency. They go into a bag at the end and stay there, so do not use anything you need. Five or seven is the usual handful.
Paper and a pen
For the name of the person or the business. The name only.
A small bag, and a marker
To hold the cooled coins, marked on the outside with a crossed-out currency symbol. Cloth or paper; it has to be closable.
Moon Phase & Timing
You are asking for something to shrink, so the working belongs to the waning half of the month.
Waning Moon: The usual time. An advantage diminishing as the light does.
Saturday: Saturn's day: limits, debts, and what is called in. A good day for this one.
Not a waxing moon: A rising moon is the season for drawing money toward things. It will work against you here.
