The Eldritch Veil

A working for putting real distance between you and someone who has wronged you, while asking that what they did find its own consequence. Their image is wrapped in black cloth and set beyond a closed veil, and the path between you is asked to turn away.
What You Will Need
A black candle
A pillar or taper you can let burn for the length of the rite. Black here is a closed door rather than an ill wish.
Something that stands for the person
A photograph, a note in their handwriting, a small object of theirs, or their full name written on paper. Something that leaves your house at the end of this, so not an heirloom you will want back.
A square of black cloth
Big enough to wrap the object three times over and tie. Cotton, felt, a cut-up shirt - anything opaque.
A length of dark thread or cord
To tie the bundle shut. One knot is enough; this is a wrapping, not a binding of a person.
Moon Phase & Timing
You are asking for a withdrawal, so the working belongs to the dark end of the month.
Dark of the Moon: The best night for it. There is nothing to see, which is the condition the working is asking for.
Waning Moon: Good for an influence that is still present and that you want to see shrink week by week.
Saturday: Saturn's day, which rules limits, walls and what is not allowed past. Use it if the moon will not cooperate.
