Words Carried by the Wind

Join the Coven to keep this in your own Book of Shadows
Sage crumbled on a plate, one drop of wax, and then the herbs released to the wind: a working for a conversation you need to be honest. It asks for room for the truth rather than for anybody's tongue to be moved, and it closes by giving every voice back its choice.
Level Beginner
Time 20 minutes, in two parts
Moon Any. Wind matters more than the moon
What You Will Need
Dried sage
Loose leaf, a kitchen jar, or a smudge bundle broken up. A good pinch - enough to cover a palm's worth of the plate.
A white candle
Kept afterwards, because this working is closed with the same candle. A tea light will not survive the wait; use a taper or a votive.
A plate or shallow bowl
Anything you do not mind a spot of wax on.
A doorway, window or open space
Somewhere you can release a pinch of herbs into moving air without annoying a neighbour.
Moon Phase & Timing
This one follows the conversation rather than the sky.
The night before: The usual timing. Work it the evening before the conversation so the second half can be done in daylight on the way.
A breezy day: Worth waiting for. Releasing herbs into still air is a working with a missing ingredient.
Wednesday: Mercury's day, which rules speech, messages and honest dealing. A good match if you have the choice.
